Greenberg Traurig Represents ASA in the Creation of a MXP 5,000 Million Credit Facility
Lawyers from the Mexico City Banking and Financial Services Practice of global law firm Greenberg Traurig advised Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares (ASA), an agency of the Mexican federal government, on the creation of a financial mechanism that allowed it to monetize, through a trust, future revenues generated by some of its operations in the amount of MXP$5 billion.
The funds originated from financing granted by Banobras to the trust, which will allow ASA to carry out strategic transportation projects in Mexico, including strengthening the country’s airport sector.
In addition, Greenberg Traurig obtained approvals from the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) and other Mexican federal government agencies.
ASA has operated, managed, built and maintained most of Mexico’s airports for more than 50 years, is the largest participant in the aviation fuel supply and storage market, and provides technical assistance and consulting in aviation and airport matters.
The Greenberg Traurig team was led by banking and financial services partner Rodrigo Orozco Waters and associate Edgar Orozco. Associates Francisco De Rosenzweig and Daniela Cobo also participated in the matter.
