Jorge López Fung discusses South American arbitration trends with Alessandri

 

International arbitration expert Jorge López Fung, of Squire Patton Boggs, joined Alessandri’s Litigation team for a lunch meeting focused on exchanging experiences and perspectives on the development of arbitration practice across South America.

The discussion addressed the evolution of arbitration in different Latin American markets, the main challenges currently facing the practice and the trends shaping its development across the region.

International dispute resolution experience

With more than 12 years of experience in dispute resolution, Jorge López Fung has participated in more than 40 international arbitrations across Latin America, Europe and the United States.

His practice focuses on international commercial arbitration involving sectors including energy, construction, mining, telecommunications and infrastructure. He also serves as an arbitration professor and as an arbitrator before various institutions in the region.

The meeting with Alessandri’s Litigation team provided an opportunity to exchange practical and up-to-date perspectives on the principal challenges currently facing arbitration in South America and on the evolution of the practice across the region.
