Marval advises YPF SA on acquisition of 50% of Refinor

Marval O’Farrell Mairal advised YPF SA on the purchase of a 50% stake in Refinería del Norte SA (Refinor), a company that operates across the entire value chain of fuel and gas transport and marketing in northern Argentina.
The shares were acquired from Hidrocarburos del Norte, a company belonging to Grupo Integra, an Argentine holding company with a presence in strategic sectors such as energy, mining, agribusiness and financial services.

With this transaction, YPF now controls 100% of Refinor’s shares, which will continue to operate as part of the YPF Group.

This operation is strategic for YPF, as it allows it to secure the operation of the multi-purpose pipeline connecting YPF’s dispatch terminal in Montecristo (Córdoba) with Refinor’s hub in Banda del Río Salí (Tucumán), optimising fuel supply logistics throughout the north-western region of Argentina (NOA). Refinor also manages a network of more than 70 service stations distributed throughout the provinces of Tucumán, Salta, Santiago del Estero, La Rioja, Jujuy, Catamarca and Chaco. With this acquisition, YPF guarantees operational continuity and supply throughout the region.

Marval O’Farrell Mairal advised YPF SA through a team led by partners Diego Chighizola, Soledad Riera and Fernando Vaquero, together with associates Santiago Pablo Cruz and Lourdes Cohen García.
