Pérez-Llorca adds Antonio González and María Elena Huerta from Jones Day as partners in Mexico City
Pérez-Llorca has incorporated Antonio González and María Elena Huerta as new partners of the Firm, strengthening its global Litigation and Arbitration team and consolidating its presence in the Mexican market. Both join from Jones Day’s Mexico City office, where they led relevant judicial and arbitration proceedings for years. The Spanish firm recently integrated the González-Calvillo law firm in Mexico.
The arrival of both partners is part of Pérez-Llorca’s international growth strategy and consolidates the Mexico City office as a key pillar within the firm’s global project. They are joined by a team of lawyers that reinforces the Firm’s capabilities in highly complex litigation.
Antonio González has more than 25 years of experience advising national and international companies in commercial, civil and corporate disputes. His experience includes proceedings before Mexican courts of different instances, as well as cross-border litigation and international arbitration in the United States, Mexico and several Latin American countries under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), among others. Throughout his career, he has represented clients in sectors such as energy, telecommunications, infrastructure and finance, where he has stood out for his strategic vision and ability to lead large-scale matters.
María Elena Huerta specializes in the resolution of conflicts related to the performance and interpretation of commercial contracts, disputes between partners and corporate claims. She brings solid experience in commercial arbitration, both domestic and international, and has been recognized by legal directories for her growing prominence in the Mexican litigation landscape.
"The addition of Antonio and María Elena significantly strengthens our capabilities in international litigation and arbitration. Their experience, both in the Mexican market and in global disputes, is another step forward in the Firm’s internationalization strategy," said Iván Delgado, international executive partner of Pérez-Llorca.
Jorge Mondragón, Pérez-Llorca’s country chair in Mexico, said: "We are delighted to welcome Antonio, María Elena and their team. Their arrival consolidates Pérez-Llorca’s commitment to the Mexican market and our vocation to offer first class advice to local and international clients from Mexico City".
With this incorporation, Pérez-Llorca continues to develop its international strategic plan, which includes the growth of its offices and the strengthening of its main practice areas by attracting talent with a strong international profile.
