Pérez-Llorca strengthens its Lisbon office with the addition of Cristina Vergueiro as Senior International Counsel in the areas of Corporate, Private Equity and Infrastructure
Pérez-Llorca has announced the appointment of Cristina Vergueiro as Senior International Counsel in the Corporate team at its Lisbon office. Vergueiro joins from one of Latin America’s largest and most renowned private equity and infrastructure managers, where she served as managing director and general counsel.
Throughout her career, she has been involved in all phases of the investment cycle: fund structuring, capital raising, investment and divestment transactions, as well as the monitoring and development of portfolio companies. Her experience includes defining governance, risk management and compliance models in sectors such as logistics, energy, transport and pharmaceuticals in various Latin American markets, as well as crisis management and arbitration. She has also been a member of the board of directors of several portfolio companies.
Vergueiro holds a law degree from the University of São Paulo Law School and is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association.
This addition strengthens Pérez-Llorca’s ability to support clients – both organisations and private clients – in cross-border transactions, contributing to the firm’s international reach, with a particular focus on projects involving Portuguese-speaking and Latin American markets, especially Brazil.
According to Gonçalo Capela Godinho, Country Chair of Pérez-Llorca in Portugal: ‘Cristina brings a deep understanding of the private equity industry and the dynamics of infrastructure investment. Her experience will enable us to offer our clients sound legal solutions for complex M&A transactions and the development of projects in critical sectors such as energy, transport and logistics.’
