Pérez-Llorca has announced the appointment of five new partners in Lima and Lisbon, strengthening its Ibero-American platform and expanding its ability to provide coordinated advice across Spanish, Portuguese, Mexican, Colombian and Peruvian law.
In Lima, Arturo Tuesta, Paola Saavedra and Ronald Vargas join Pérez-Llorca in Peru as Tax partners, marking the firm’s first partner appointments in the country since the integration of Miranda & Amado and Pérez-Llorca.
The three professionals, previously partners at a Big Four firm in Peru, join alongside a team of 13 professionals comprising lawyers and accounting and tax specialists. Together with partner Pablo Sotomayor, they will form one of the largest tax practices in Peru.
Arturo Tuesta has 34 years of experience and a widely recognised track record advising some of Peru’s leading companies on M&A transactions and Wealth Management matters. Prior to joining Pérez-Llorca in Peru, he served as tax leader at a Big Four firm in the country.
Paola Saavedra focuses primarily on Wealth Management clients, as well as tax compliance and tax audit proceedings for companies operating in the infrastructure and energy sectors.
Ronald Vargas advises companies in the financial, real estate and agribusiness sectors on tax matters and has experience in international taxation, tax audits and tax disputes.
In Lisbon, Pérez-Llorca has appointed Luís Roquette Geraldes and Martim Teixeira as partners, strengthening its Emerging Companies and Venture Capital (ECVC) and Tax capabilities, respectively.
Luís Roquette Geraldes will lead the firm’s new Emerging Companies and Venture Capital practice in Lisbon. He was previously a Corporate and M&A partner and headed the startups and Venture Capital team at a leading Portuguese law firm, where he also coordinated the Private Equity practice.
With a particular focus on the technology and life sciences sectors, his practice centres on Emerging Companies and Private Capital. Throughout his career, he has led hundreds of financing rounds across more than 20 jurisdictions and advised both high-growth companies and international and domestic funds on cross-border transactions.
Martim Teixeira joins as a Tax partner in Lisbon. With 15 years of professional experience, he specialises in advising foreign investors and multinational groups on tax matters relating to domestic and international investments, as well as the tax structuring of M&A, private equity and complex financial transactions.
Teixeira also has extensive experience in tax disputes, representing clients in proceedings before the Portuguese Tax Authority and Portuguese courts.
Through these appointments, Pérez-Llorca continues to expand strategic areas of its Ibero-American platform and strengthen its ability to assist clients on complex transactions and matters connecting Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.
