Profile
He specializes in the financial and tax sectors. He has extensive experience in tax consulting, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and tax planning, primarily for multinational companies as well as local businesses. He currently leads the tax consulting practice, focusing on analysis and business advisory services.
Diego is considered one of Central America’s five most recommended tax advisers by Latin Lawyer magazine, published by the UK-based Law Business Research Institute. He has worked as an external consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank on the development and implementation of training programmes for public officials and currently writes a column for the weekly business newspaper El Financiero. He also teaches at the University of Costa Rica (UCR), where he heads the tax law chair. In addition, he is president of the International Fiscal Association - Capítulo Costa Rica and a member of the Instituto Costarricense de Estudios Tributarios.
