Luciano Ojea Quintana

Luciano Ojea Quintana has been a partner at Marval O’Farrell Mairal since 2003. He specializes in finance and M&A.

In finance and banking, he has extensive experience in financings and debt restructurings, project finance, capital markets transactions (domestic and international), and advising on the banking regulatory framework. He also has extensive experience in highly complex bank restructurings ordered by the Central Bank.

His M&A practice has focused on international mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment and project structuring, joint ventures, and advising companies on finance, contract and general commercial law. He has also advised various companies on public tenders.

He coordinates the Asian Desk at the firm and has extensive experience advising Asian companies and banks—particularly Chinese, Japanese and Korean clients—on developing their businesses in Argentina. He also advises companies and entities from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand, among other countries.

He worked at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York between 1997 and 1998.

Education

• He graduated with a law degree from the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the Universidad Católica Argentina (1994), earned an LLM from Duke University (1997) and received a diploma from the Fores/Universidad Austral Lawyer Training Program (1993), graduating with honors.

• He is a member of the Buenos Aires City Bar Association and vice-president of the Argentina Chamber of Commerce for Asia and the Pacific.
