Luis A. Cervantes Muñiz

LUIS A. CERVANTES M. is a founding partner of Cervantes Abogados. He has an extensive track record in some of Mexico’s most significant court disputes and controversies over recent decades, with broad experience in corporate, securities, commercial and insolvency litigation, including contentious matters involving competition law and comparative advertising.

He has practised corporate and finance, aviation and maritime law, and foreign investment law for more than 40 years. His practice focuses on insolvency law, complex shareholder disputes, the exercise of minority rights in public and private companies, and practical aspects of corporate governance. He also brings extensive experience in designing and structuring complex financing transactions. His practice includes family disputes, as well as matrimonial and succession planning; real estate disputes; and litigation arising from contractual matters.

In recent years, he has successfully defended domestic and global business groups in some of the most significant and high-profile moral damages cases, as well as in gender and minority discrimination litigation, which has been growing rapidly in Mexico.
In addition, he and his team have achieved significant success in claims seeking compensation for damage caused by unlawful acts of the State.
