Sebastián M. Iribarne joined Marval O’Farrell Mairal in 1991 and became a partner in 1997. He specialises in banking, finance and corporate law. His practice includes matters relating to bank financing, mergers and acquisitions.

Sebastián has more than 30 years’ experience advising on general corporate matters and mergers and acquisitions across a range of industries, including banking, electricity, media and broadcasting, and real estate, including transactions for environmental conservation purposes. He also coordinates the firm’s Electricity practice.

Sebastián has extensive experience in these matters, having participated in some of the sector’s major privatisations and transactions over the years. He worked as a member of the International Lawyers Program at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in New York in 1995 and 1996.

Education

He graduated with a law degree from Universidad Católica Argentina in 1990 and earned an LLM from Columbia University in New York in 1995. He has attended several seminars on the legal framework for the electricity sector and on mergers and acquisitions. He also served as chair of the board of Lex Mundi, the world’s leading association of independent firms.
