Galicia announces new promotions for 2025 in key sectors
 

Galicia, one of Mexico’s leading law firms, has announced its new promotions for 2025.

These additions will strengthen the firm’s legal offering and contribute to achieving its strategic objectives in a context of growing demand for its services. Galicia is expanding its regulatory capabilities in key areas such as competition, environmental and life sciences; strengthening its dispute resolution and litigation practices; and consolidating its transactional work, particularly in real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and private client wealth management.

New Partners and Counsels:

Lisandro Herrera, new Life Sciences Partner

Lisandro Herrera is a leading life sciences lawyer with an extensive track record in pharmaceutical companies and trade associations. He joins the firm in Galicia to strengthen the Life Sciences practice, bringing with him a deep understanding of the challenges facing the healthcare sector. He is also an academic at the Escuela Libre de Derecho and the Universidad Panamericana and is recognised for his expertise in healthcare regulation and compliance, cited by international publications such as Chambers Latin America and The Legal 500.

Gerardo Rodríguez, new Competition Partner

Gerardo Rodríguez is a competition law expert who has focused his career on advising on merger investigations and business practices. With solid experience in handling investigations before the competition authorities in Mexico, Gerardo has also worked at the Federal Antitrust Commission and the Federal Trade Commission in the US. Known for his accessible and analytical approach, he has been recognised by several international publications in his field.

Lucía Manzo, new Environmental Partner

Lucía Manzo is a leading environmental lawyer with over ten years’ experience in infrastructure and energy projects, particularly in the renewable energy sector. Her career includes a significant role in negotiating land and rights of way for projects in Mexico. Lucia has held leadership positions in environmental law committees and has a strong academic background, with a degree in Law and a Masters in Environment and Energy.

Roxana Schafer, new Real Estate and M&A Partner

Roxana Schafer is a lawyer in the M&A and Real Estate practice, where she has developed a career focused on structuring complex projects and negotiations. She joined Galicia as a trainee and has risen to partner, the first woman in either practice. Roxana also has international experience, having worked in a New York firm, and is recognised by publications such as The Legal 500 and Chambers Latin America.

Fabiola Jiménez, new Wealth Management Counsel

Fabiola Jiménez is an experienced lawyer in Wealth Management, where she combines her experience in mergers and acquisitions with a focus on the needs of families and family businesses. Since joining the firm as a trainee, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to client service, with a focus on providing tailored solutions. Her practice includes corporate transactions and governance structures and she is known for her attention to detail and dedication to advising clients.

Cecilia Díaz de Rivera, new Wealth Management Counsel

Cecilia is an Advisor in Wealth Management in Galicia, where she has specialised in corporate and private wealth matters since joining as a trainee in 2007. She initially worked in Banking & Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions, but moved to Wealth Management exclusively and was appointed Director in 2025. Her work focuses on designing and implementing wealth and succession structures that facilitate her clients’ family and wealth relationships. Cecilia holds a law degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana and an LLM from Columbia Law School.

Iván Valdespino, new Litigation Counsel

Iván is an administrative and constitutional litigation counsel in Galicia, having joined the firm as a senior associate in 2016. His experience covers litigation in areas such as energy, environment and technology, and he has excelled in administrative and judicial proceedings. Prior to joining Galicia, Iván worked in a Mexican law firm and in the Inter-American Human Rights System, as well as on a research project for the United Nations. Iván holds a law degree and a Masters in International Legal Studies from New York University School of Law and has been recognised as an expert in his field by international publications.
