International tender to modernize Puerto Caldera

Arias - On October 30, 2024, the Costa Rican Institute of Pacific Ports (hereinafter "INCOP") announced the publication of the bidding terms for the Infrastructure and Equipment Modernization Project for Puerto Caldera, No. 2024LY-CAL-000001-INCOP. This project will be developed in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (hereinafter "IFC").

The project will be conducted through an international bidding process, under a public-private partnership (hereinafter "PPP") model, in which a private operator will be responsible for financing, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining the infrastructure at Puerto Caldera. INCOP has estimated an official reference budget for the capital expenditure of the project at US $ 587,000,000.00. Bids must be physically submitted at the offices of the Tourism Promotion Board on March 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. This process will not be conducted through the digital public procurement platform, so all communications must be made directly with INCOP.
