Pérez-Llorca strengthens its Insurance practice with Felipe Vázquez Acedo, from Hogan Lovells

Felipe, a specialist in insurance transactions and regulatory matters, will join the firm’s Madrid-based insurance practice, which is led by Joaquín Ruiz Echauri and comprises more than fifteen lawyers.
 

Pérez-Llorca today announced the appointment of Felipe Vázquez Acedo as a partner in its insurance practice.

Felipe has more than 15 years of proven experience advising insurance and reinsurance companies and other financial sector institutions on the full range of transactional and regulatory matters, including M&A transactions, bancassurance and assurbanking alliances, portfolio cessions and reinsurance transactions in Europe and Latin America.

Felipe’s appointment comes as part of a period of rapid growth for Pérez-Llorca’s insurance team, which has seen a strong commitment to the practice since Joaquín Ruiz Echauri joined as partner in charge of the area in 2020, and has continued to grow with the promotion of Rafael Fernández to partner in 2024 and the expansion of the firm’s capabilities in Portugal through Inês Palma Ramalho.

Vázquez Acedo, who joins from Hogan Lovells, holds a degree in law and a diploma in business administration from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE), an executive master in corporate law from the Centro de Estudios Garrigues and Harvard University, and has completed programmes at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Georgetown University.
