Clara Jiménez

Clara Jiménez joined Pérez-Llorca as a partner in September 2006. She has extensive experience in both the public administration and private sectors. She has served as deputy director of the Legal Regulation Subdirectorate of the AEAT Inspection Department and as deputy head of the Legal Department at Bankinter, where she was responsible for the Tax Unit.

As a tax law expert, Clara advises domestic and international clients on all types of tax law matters.

Experience

Clara advises domestic and international clients across all areas of tax law. Her extensive experience and knowledge in this field, both in public administration and as head of a company’s tax department, enable her to provide advice that is technically rigorous, useful and practical, and closely tailored to each client’s circumstances.

As an expert in her practice area, she advises on all types of proceedings before the tax authorities, including technically complex tax audits. Clara also regularly prepares opinions and reports on the tax treatment of all types of financial and insurance products, determines the most appropriate tax approach to a wide range of transactions, and reviews and adapts contracts, agreements and other documents to the applicable tax regime.

Her clients include major Spanish companies (Repsol, Telefónica, Grupo Villa Mir, Técnicas Reunidas), including financial institutions (Santander, BBVA), as well as foundations, investment funds and family-owned businesses.

Clara works closely with all of them, advising on issues that are central to their tax strategies.

Academic Activities

• Clara regularly speaks at seminars, conferences and workshops as a tax law expert. She has published a wide range of articles and papers on her practice area in the press and specialist journals. She is also co-author of several books on tax law.
