Félix J. Montero has extensive professional experience in litigation and arbitration. After practising as a lawyer for several years, he joined Pérez-Llorca in July 2004 and was appointed partner in January 2008. Throughout his career, Félix’s litigation practice has focused on civil and commercial matters, both domestic and international, as well as domestic and international arbitration. Félix is also a member of the firm’s Restructuring and Insolvency Group.
Félix has advised on civil and commercial disputes involving, inter alia, unfair competition, agency, distribution, international sale of goods, directors’ liability, challenges to corporate resolutions, condominium law, insurance, energy, construction, real estate and corporate transactions, patents, trademarks, sports law, tort law, and the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards.
Félix also has extensive experience in arbitration, whether international or domestic, institutional or ad hoc. In Spain, he has participated in major arbitrations administered by the Madrid Court of Arbitration (CAM), the Civil and Commercial Court of Arbitration (CIMA) and the Barcelona Arbitration Court (TAB), involving construction and mediation contracts, MBOs and corporate acquisitions, purchase options, land development, sham contracts, export credit insurance, energy, infrastructure construction, technology transfer and financial derivatives. Internationally, Félix has participated in major arbitrations administered by the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), primarily involving international corporate law, international loan agreements, turnkey contracts for industrial machinery, civil works contracts, distribution agreements, telecommunications infrastructure construction, energy, gas and oil, administrative concessions and engineering.
