Pérez-Llorca strengthens its New York office with the addition of Mexican partner José Ignacio Rivero
 

Pérez-Llorca will expand the team at its New York office in the coming months with the transfer to this city of José Ignacio Rivero, until now a partner at the firm’s Mexico City office.

This move marks a milestone in US legal practice as Pérez-Llorca becomes the first firm to practise Mexican law with a robust team from this city.

A team of Mexican lawyers will move to New York with Rivero, with full capacity to attend to the needs of the firm’s clients in the United States and Mexico.

With a professional career spanning 20 years, 11 of which as a partner at Pérez-Llorca Mexico, José Ignacio Rivero is an expert in Mergers and Acquisitions and in Banking and Finance Law.

During his career, he has advised national and international companies on cross-border transactions, restructuring and financing, establishing himself as a leader in his field.

In addition to his professional work, Rivero created and chairs the Dr José Ignacio Rivero Cosme-Beyond Cancer Foundation, a non-profit organisation that supports patients with limited resources in their fight against cancer.

Rivero’s incorporation in New York adds to the efforts that partners Javier Gómez and Felipe Nazar have been carrying out from this city together with a team of lawyers specialising in Commercial Law and International Arbitration.
