Diego Cabezuela, President of Inlaw Alliance: "We must evolve and grow at the same pace as our clients"

April 13, 2026

In the framework of the upcoming InLaw Alliance of Law Firms’ Annual Assembly, to be held in Panama City from May 14th to 16th, the organization commemorates its 20th anniversary, consolidating its position within the Ibero-American legal market. The network, founded in 2006, returns to its original headquarters amidst a period of sustained growth and institutional strengthening.

Since 2022, the alliance has been presided over by Diego Cabezuela, a Spanish lawyer with a career defined by his strategic focus on business law. In this interview, he analyzes the main challenges facing the legal sector in the region, the evolution of the organization, and future perspectives in an increasingly dynamic environment.

LATIN COUNSEL: How do you manage a network comprised mostly of Ibero-American firms with such diverse realities?

Diego Cabezuela: The key lies in permanent coordination and institutional cohesion. Despite time zone differences and cultural nuances, our common goal is to offer clients legal certainty, operational efficiency, and concrete results. In that sense, we have prioritized strengthening our structure, expanding our reach, and consolidating the brand on a regional level.

LATIN COUNSEL: The organization is celebrating its 20th anniversary. To what do you attribute the longevity and success of Inlaw Alliance in such a competitive market?

Diego Cabezuela: It is a combination of sustained work, commitment, and, above all, trust in the project. Our value proposition consists of providing a service comparable to that of large global firms, but with a much closer and more personalized approach. This dynamic allows clients to interact directly with partners, guaranteeing a superior standard of quality in service.

LATIN COUNSEL: Looking at the regional map, which legal trends do you currently identify as having the greatest development potential in Ibero-America?

Diego Cabezuela: I identify three key areas. First, the growth of compliance as a consolidated practice in the business sphere. Second, the significant potential of patent and trademark law. Finally, the process of labor regulation modernization, especially in Central America—a factor that demands constant updating from us as legal professionals.

LATIN COUNSEL: Regarding the network, what is the current policy for incorporating new members?

Diego Cabezuela: We are extremely selective. The evaluation of potential firms includes criteria of ethical solvency, technical specialization, and human quality. Our goal is to preserve the collective reputation of the network; we prioritize excellence over quantitative expansion.

In this regard, we highly value the recent addition of younger firms for their dynamism and ability to adapt. Furthermore, I can confirm our current interest in incorporating a firm in Venezuela, a country that presents relevant opportunities in this scenario of transformation.

LATIN COUNSEL: What can we expect from the upcoming Annual Assembly in Panama?

Diego Cabezuela: The meeting will include a high-level congress on business law. We will have the participation of jurists, business leaders, and public officials to address critical issues: taxation, arbitration, Artificial Intelligence, and new trends in compliance. we aim to provide value not only to lawyers but to all stakeholders in the corporate world.

LATIN COUNSEL: Finally, where is the profession headed in the face of technological advancement, and what role will the alliance play in the coming decades?

Diego Cabezuela: Beyond the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, law will continue to be based on interpersonal trust. My expectation is for Inlaw Alliance to consolidate its leadership along the Ibero-America-Europe axis in the coming years, always maintaining the human bond that defines us.
