Former Cariola partner Ignacia López joins PMVL

Chile — Parga Montes & Vasseur Laborales has welcomed Ignacia López as a new partner, effective July 1, 2026, and has changed its name to Parga Montes Vasseur & López, Laborales, retaining the acronym PMVL, Laborales.

Ignacia López previously served for several years as the lead partner of the labor, social security and immigration team at Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos.

She holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, as well as a master’s degree in Business Law and a postgraduate diploma in People and Organizational Management. She has extensive experience advising domestic and multinational companies across a range of industries on their most complex labor matters, applying a strategic approach that combines legal rigor, people management, business objectives and corporate reputation.

Her arrival marks the beginning of a new period of consolidation and growth for the firm, strengthening its value proposition in strategic labor advice and highly complex litigation for companies. As part of this new stage, the firm incorporated the new partner’s surname into its name.

López also has substantial corporate experience, having spent more than twelve years at Clínica Alemana, one of Chile’s largest private clinics. She initially led its labor law department and later served as People Manager.

She is also a member of Icare’s People and Organization Circle. For more than ten years, she has served on the Labor Commission of the Confederation of Production and Commerce (CPC) and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Center for Labor Law Studies (CEDET).

Her experience encompasses strategic labor advice and highly complex litigation, as well as the management of union relations and collective bargaining processes. She also advises on labor relations, the implementation of internal policies and corporate governance, with a focus on organizational sustainability and an ethical approach to people management.

Sebastián Parga, a partner at the firm, said:

"We are confident that Ignacia’s joining us will enhance the value our firm provides to our clients. Her outstanding track record, both in her professional practice and in the corporate world, brings a comprehensive perspective on the labor challenges organizations face today. Her arrival represents an important step in the firm’s growth and marks the beginning of a new phase of development, which is also reflected today in our new identity as PMVL, Laborales."
