Pérez-Llorca: new promotions and female leadership

January 07, 2025

Pérez-Llorca has announced the appointment of 6 partners between internal promotions and incorporations. These appointments strengthen the Litigation and Arbitration practice in Spain; the Restructuring & Finance practice in the UK; and the Real Estate, Corporate M&A and Banking & Finance practices in Mexico.

It is worth noting that 67% of the new partners are women, with María Teresa Paillés and María Esther Rey being appointed as part of Pérez-Llorca’s ’Women in Corporate ’ programme, through which the Firm promotes equality between men and women through various actions and fosters female talent in the Corporate area, and following Pérez-Llorca’s Equality Plan, whose measures include the promotion and career plan for women in order to advance equal opportunities between men and women and increase the number of female partners in the Firm. Both join Pérez-Llorca’s Mexico team as partners.

The 83% belong to the Firm’s international offices, thus reinforcing its international presence and strategy, in addition to the recently announced incorporation of Manuel de Abreu Castelo Branco in Lisbon.

The Firm has also promoted José del Saz-Orozco and Félix Ponce-Nava to Counsels.

In Brussels, Pablo Figueroa takes up the position of Resident Partner and Sonsoles Centeno returns to Madrid to continue developing the Public Law and EU Law practices.

New talent on board

She is chair of the board of directors and founding partner of Abogadas MX, an NGO that promotes the professional development of women lawyers.
