Bofill Mir promotes pro bono work

Bofill Mir held a Pro Bono Work Promotion Day, conceived as a forum for dialogue and reflection on the contribution of pro bono legal advice to the work of social organisations and to the wellbeing of the communities they support.

The event provided an opportunity to examine the role that specialised legal assistance can play in strengthening these organisations, supporting the development of their initiatives and addressing the legal challenges that arise in their day-to-day activities.

Representatives of Fundación de Apoyo a la Infancia y Juventud Tremün, Corporación Crecer Mejor and Fundación Misericordia Chile participated in the event. They shared their experiences of working with Bofill Mir and highlighted the importance of enabling social organisations to access specialised pro bono legal advice.

During the meeting, the participating organisations noted that legal support can be relevant at different stages of an organisation’s development. These include its incorporation, the definition and organisation of its governance structure, the management of issues arising from its daily operations and the implementation of projects intended to support its growth.

Their testimonies also highlighted the value of collaboration between legal teams and social organisations, as well as the impact that appropriate legal advice can have on these entities’ ability to focus on fulfilling their objectives and supporting their respective communities.

Bofill Mir thanked the participating organisations for their time, the trust placed in the firm and their willingness to share their experiences. The firm stated that these testimonies help reinforce its commitment to access to justice and service to the community.

The firm also recognised the contribution of its pro bono interns, Martina Valenzuela and Christiane Curtze, for their support in organising and delivering the event.

Finally, Bofill Mir highlighted the work of its pro bono coordinators, Martina Preuss and Enzo Rivera Cienfuegos Rivera, who led the organisation of the event and made this forum for discussion, reflection and collaboration with the participating organisations possible.
