Víctor Garita’s new role at Arias
 

Víctor Garita, who has been a partner at ARIAS since March 2019, has changed his status to Of Counsel as of January 1, 2025.

Mr. Garita commented: "I am proud to have worked with the ARIAS organization during the relaunch of its Costa Rica operations. It has been a period marked by professional challenges and accelerated growth for ARIAS. This next chapter of my professional career will, no doubt, hold new challenges. As I culminate my role as partner, I look forward to lending my experience and advice independently. Victor Garita headed the litigation department of Arias in Costa Rica. He holds a law degree from the University of Costa Rica and a Master’s degree from Tulane University, where he focused on commercial arbitration and served as editor of the domestic arbitration chapter in the Supreme Court’s Law of Alternate Conflict Resolution.

An arbitrator for the Conciliation and Arbitration Center of the Chamber of Commerce and the International Conciliation and Arbitration Center (CICA-AMCHAM), Victor is recognized as an expert in various dispute areas, including construction and distribution contracts. He has been a featured speaker for the American Bar Association (ABA) on transnational litigation in the Americas.

Victor has also served as an expert witness in U.S. arbitrations and courts, representing numerous national and multinational companies in cases involving damages and contract breaches. Frequently invited to speak at conferences on arbitration and corporate law, he is acknowledged as a leader in his field and acts as a corporate advisor for significant national and international firms.
