BLP GC Summit: where Innovation meets Legal Leadership
BLP has successfully celebrated the ninth edition of its GC Summit, consolidating itself as a flagship event in Central America.
Designed to bring together General Counsel and legal leaders from the most influential companies in the region, this forum has established itself as a distinctive space that offers a full day of learning, trend analysis and strategic networking. Each year, BLP puts together a unique agenda that addresses technological innovation, regulatory changes and legal best practices, ensuring that attendees stay ahead of the curve in a constantly evolving legal environment.
In this edition, CABEI Executive President Gisela Sanchez presented an analysis of the institution’s impact on business in the region. Randall González, a partner at BLP, addressed the topic of best legal practices in cases of harassment and discrimination, highlighting how organizations are being challenged in their ability to react to these sensitive situations. Gonzalez stressed the need for legal managers to maintain an up-to-date vision to align organizational objectives with the Human Capital and Compliance departments, given the increase in complaints and the associated risks.
Leon Weinstok and Pablo Rojas, also from BLP, discussed advertising and the use of influencers, offering strategies to minimize the risks companies face when running advertising campaigns and how to effectively handle customer complaints.
Bernardo van der Laat, director of BLP, focused on the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on legal departments, highlighting the urgent need for legal professionals to develop specific competencies in AI-based tools. He presented concrete examples of application in everyday procedures that increase the efficiency and accuracy of legal functions, as well as methodologies for implementing AI in legal environments, taking into account the ethical, regulatory and professional challenges that arise.
In addition, BLP founding partner David Gutierrez interviewed Julio Martinez, Legal General Counsel of CABEI, on how relationships between in-house and outside counsel can be strategic allies for business success.
The day also included a fireside chat moderated by Rodrigo Cubero of BLP.
The GC Summit, created by BLP to anticipate industry challenges and promote professional excellence, continues to position itself as a benchmark for those who lead with vision, adaptability and innovation. Looking ahead, the tenth edition of the GC Summit will mark a decade of commitment to strengthening legal leadership in the region.
