Marval O’Farrell Mairal, together with Mayer Brown, advised PETRONAS Carigali Canada B.V. and PETRONAS Carigali International E&P B.V. (PETRONAS) in the sale of PETRONAS E&P Argentina S.A. (PEPASA) to Vista Energy, S.A.B. de C.V. (Vista) and Vista Argentina S.A.U. PEPASA.

PEPASA owns 50% of the concession in the La Amarga Chica area, the second shale oil field in Vaca Muerta in terms of production. YPF S.A. owns the remaining 50%.   The transaction, which closed on April 15, involved 100% of PEPASA’s shares for approximately US$1.5 billion.
